Interesting theories that addressed various types of late people.

One of DeLonzor’s most interesting theories addressed the various types of late people. According to the research, she discovered three broad categories that all struggle with lateness for different reasons.

  •     The Deadliner: This person lives on the excitement of racing against the clock to meet a deadline. They believe that when they’re under pressure, they work their best, and that they can’t cope if they feel like they’re wasting time. That means they may overload themselves or rush from one place to the next without stopping.
  •     The Producer: This person hates wasting time in any way. They’re great at making to-do lists, and they generally end up with lists which they’ll never be able to complete. They’re usually practicing magical thinking, which encourages them to imagine they can complete more in a day than they can.
  •     The Confused Professor: This person is easily distracted. If they have to leave the house right now, they’ll stop on their way out to fix a hanging picture or pull the curtains closed properly. They’re usually late because they can’t differentiate between what’s important and what’s not. This person may have a kind of ADHD or another attention disorder that makes it difficult for them to concentrate on what they need to do.

If you see yourself in any of these categories, it means you have a lateness problem that need to be addressed. Luckily, no matter how severe you think your condition is, it is possible to turn things around.
